Verification of LiDAR and
SoDAR devices
Reliable technology
Remote sensing devices (RSD) must be tested in accordance with the requirements of the current IEC guideline and the corresponding FGW Technical Guideline before they are used for measuring. They must be compared with the readings for wind speed measured with First Class anemometers (according to IEC 61400-12-1), wind direction and turbulence intensity. These conventional measuring devices are operated on a met mast and data recorded using a data logger.
200m-Verification of LiDAR devices
The verification of the devices, should be done best at hub height, before and after each measurement. We can offer you exactly this service. Pavana GmbH has erected a 200m high measurement mast in the north of Schleswig-Holstein. With this mast we extend our services of LiDAR verification from 120 m to 200 m above ground. The verification has to be carried out according to technical guideline part 6 of FGW e. V. (TR6) before and after a wind measurement and is carried out according to the specifications of IEC 61400-12-1 ed.2 and NORSEWIND. Pavana GmbH is accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) for this service according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and can therefore offer an essential basis for reliable wind assessments based on LiDAR measurements. We can verify your device on up to 10 different heights from 20 m to 200 m height. Thus we cover all possible hub heights of current wind turbines with a maximum vertical distance of 10 m. For this purpose we have more than 30 sensors in use. The usable sector ranges from north-east over south to north-west. At the location not far from the Danish border, we count with comparatively short test cycles to collect all necessary measured values.
